Brian started his career in the application development arena, developing custom software for electronic full text searching of what were then “print only” products. As his skills progressed, he moved into project management and then departmental management in IT.
After about eight years working in that environment, Brian moved to the academic world, spent a few years as an Assistant Professor of Computer Technology at Purdue University. While at Purdue, Brian and a another faculty member revamped the student lab environment, migrating to a Microsoft Windows NT based environment.
Brian left Purdue to take the position of IT Director with a large home health care organization. In that position, Brian managed an entire replacement of the entire IT infrastructure and assisted in selecting new line of business applications to better serve the needs of the organization. These changes were all part of a “turn around” rebounding the organization from 2 sequential years of net loss to a return to profitability.
Brian left the IT management field to begin consulting. Since then, with his diversified IT background, he has been able to provide a unique blend of insights and experience to help his clients. His background as a consultant has involved major software and hardware products from vendors such as Microsoft, Citrix, VMware, Symantec, HP, Dell, IBM and Avaya. He has architected, implemented, and managed teams performing many installations including Active Directory, Exchange, SMS, SQL Server, Citrix XenApp (formerly Presentation Server/MetaFrame), Citrix NetScaler, Citrix XenServer, Citrix Access Gateway, Citrix XenDesktop, and VMware ESX. In the course of this work, Brian has attained many certifications including, but not limited to MCSE, MCDBA, MCT, MCTS, CCEA, and CCI.
Before joining Innovative Integration, Brian was most recently the Sr. Principal Consultant at DC3 Solutions, where he was the recognized specialist in virtualization – at the server, desktop and application levels.
